Jewellery Care and Sizing
At Touch The Dutch studio we take pride in creating heirloom quality work. With a bit of care, these pieces can be passed along to future generations if you follow these tips:

-
Jewellery stays it's cleanest when it's being worn... your body oils help it sparkle.
-
Keep jewellery in a zip locked bag, or jewellery box, when not in use.
-
Remove your jewellery when swimming, gardening or washing up the dishes. These activities are often abrasive to stones, pearls and metals.
-
Apply any cosmetics or perfumes before putting on your jewellery.
-
Jewellery will tarnish over time. This is a natural occurrence, and can be kept at bay by using a jewellers polishing cloth, and rubbing the piece gently. Most "dips" should be avoided as they are often very harsh.
-
Diamonds and their settings can be easily cleaned with a gentle organic soap and a soft toothbrush. Cover the drain before doing so in case your stone is loose or the setting is worn.
-
Store Jewellery separately, so that your pieces don't scratch one another.
-
Suspend chains when storing them to keep from tangling.
-
Do not wear your rings to bed. Over time, your bedding can actually wear the settings down, which could cause you to lose a stone!
-
If worn on a regular basis, most jewellery will need maintence over the years. This may be as simple as a deep cleaning, a re-finish, or polish.

Sizing:

-
If you do not know your ring size, you can find it at any jewellery shop, by asking to have your finger sized.
-
You can also go online to: www.findmyringsize.com
-
We will offer advice and guide you with the process., but you will need to be sure of your ring size prior to ordering. Everyone wears rings differently, and getting your size taken at the mall is an easy option. Some people prefer to wear them tighter, others a bit roomier. It's a matter of comfort, so find out what works best for you.
